Phases of the Moon

In science this term we are learning about the Moon. We have learned about the phases of the Moon and the correct terms (gibbous, crescent, new, full, waning, waxing). Students will have a quiz on these Moon phases next Thursday.

World Geography

In social studies, we are learning about the 7 continents and 4 oceans. We have done a variety of activities in class and we'll be having a short quiz next Thursday, September 26th. Students will need to be able to identify the 7 continents and 4 oceans on a map of the world.

Typing

This year we are fortunate enough to have a brand new set of Chromebooks. In an effort to maximize our written output, we have begun touch typing lessons on www.typing.com  Students have created personal accounts which will log their progress. 

Please encourage your children to practice typing at home. They each have a username (firstnamelastname - one word), and password is what they use to log on to their Chromebooks.

Chromebooks in Grade 4

Today we had our first introduction to VTT's new Chromebooks! IT Director Marko came to help us set up our new laptops and practice logging in and out.

We then practiced some math skills on IXL.com, and set up accounts on www.typing.com Stay tuned for more exciting tech updates!

First Week

Today is the first day of our first full week of school. I am always amazed at how quickly our students settle into the routines of the classroom. Already we have begun to get to know each other and learn about the goals and objectives of the year.

Please note that Meet the Teacher night is scheduled Thursday of this week from 7:30-9:00. Please make every effort to attend as we will be providing important information about the upcoming year.
